District Assembly at Nasik
Rotary International Rotary Coordinator Zone 4 & 6A PDG Rtn. Mayur Vyas inaugurated the District Assembly Hosted by Rotary Club of Nasik Ambad at HOTEL GREEN VIEW, NASHIK on SUNDAY, 29 MAY 2011.
The Assembly commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. Host Club President Rtn. Sunil Saundankar & Convener PP D S Deshmukh extended a warm welcome to all the delegates and dignitaries.District Governor Rtn. Prafulla Mokadam appealed to the audience to Go Ahead and surpass the records set during the past years. PDG Rtn. Madhu Rughwani explained the importance of the opportunity of gaining knowledge provided by the events such as District Assembly & urged all the delegates to make best use of this opportunity. DGE Gopal Shiralkar motivated the delegates by his address “Let Us Work Together” for achieving the District Goals for the Rotary year 11-12. District Advisor PDG Ramesh Khanzode explained RI Theme given by RI President Kalyan Banerjee.
Chief Guest, Zonal Rotary Coordinator, PDG Mayur Vyas, in his own unique style delivered a very strong keynote address in which he shared the statics about the membership trends pertaining to our District & complimented DG Prafull on recording a strong membership growth. He further shared the vision of RI leadership stressing the importance of long term strategic planning by clubs & the implementation of Club Leadership Plan.
District Governor from RID 3131 Rtn. Pramod Jejurikar specially came from Pune to share their district’s novel project of Rotary Distant Education Program with our District. The project really caught the imagination of many upcoming club leaders who eagerly sought more details for implementing the project at their club level.
One of the main highlight of the assembly was the motivating interactive presentation “How to be First Amongst Equals” by PP Dr. Suresh Chari, which was highly appreciated by all & drew a spontaneous standing ovation from all the 327 delegates present for the District Assembly.
PDG Madhu Rughwani appraised the audience with his motivating address “Be Proud of your Foundation’, while DPCC Dr. Nikhil Kibe shared the details about the current Polio Scenario, which he had learnt at the recently held National Polio Orientation Meet at New Delhi.
For successful breakout Sessions for 1) Presidents & Secretary Elects 2) Chairmen & Directors for Club Administration,Membership,Public Relations, TRF and all the avenues of service, special efforts were taken by DGN 2012-14 Kishor Kedia, DG 12-13 Sanjay Meshram, PDG Sanjay Wani, PDG Kishabhau Godbole, PDG Raje Sangramsingh Bhonsle, PDG Balasaheb Joshi, PDG Madhu Rughwani along with DGE Gopal Shiralkar. Faculty for the various breakout session comprised of a galaxy of Rotarians from various clubs from all over the District.
Special thanks to Assistant Governors 2011-12 Nilesh Partani, Pradeep Nagrare, Gulab Mahant, Sanjiv Upagade for promotion of attendance & AG 2011-12 Dr Vaijayantee Padhye, Dr Sharchandra Wagh, Priyank Patel, Sabhapati Shukla Jayesh Sanghvi, Ranjit Salvi, for acting as facilitators for the breakout sessions during the District Assembly.
Business session chaired by PDG Madhu Rughwani was attended by Incoming Club Presidents and other delegates. District Secretary Rtn. Rajinder Singh Khurana read out the resolutions which had been circulated earlier amongst all the clubs. After lively discussions, the resolutions pertaining to the extension of Election Complaint Pilot program & the increase of per capita district dues to Rs 250/- were approved. The resolutions were duly proposed and seconded and Dist Sec Dr Kiran Kulkarni promptly took signatures of the respective President Elect on the documents. Discussion on Budget Presentation for year 2011-12 & District Accounts pertaining to the year 2009-10, was led by PDG Rtn. Madhu Rughwani was approved with PDG Kishabhau;s proactive role in supporting the approval.
DGE Gopal Shiralkar gave his message “Go ahead to Serve” in the concluding session with a standing ovation to Host Club members for the wonderfully organising the District Assembly.
Besides, Host club President & the Convener, Host club Secretary Rtn. Santosh Bhutada, PP Pradeep Boob, Rtn. AVG Nair, PP Dr. Ajit Bhamre, Rtn. A A Pillay, Rtn. Krishna Khot, PP Nivruti Gajare & many other Rotarians of various clubs of Nashik worked jointly for the successful organization of the District assembly.
