An engineer by profession, DGE Sanjay Meshram has obtained his B. Tech (Mechanical) degree from IIT Mumbai. He is the Managing Director of Jaya Group of Companies, having turnover of over Rs. 15 crore and has been involved in engineering consultancy and marketing business for the past 25 years. Sanjay joined Rotary in the year 1992 as a member of Rotary Club - Nagpur North and held the chair of the President in the year 2000-01. During his presidency, he hosted Pets and District Assembly and got two Matching Grant projects for the club. He was conferred with awards from National Committee for Pulse Polio, R.I. Presidential Citation & Governor's Golden Citation.

 

He was the District Chairman RCC before becoming the president of the club. He has also served as District Chairman Greetings, Rainwater Harvesting, Bulletin, Centennial Celebration (Zonal), District Conference, EREY, DGNC, Permanent Fund Rotary Foundation, Convention Promotion, Award Committee (Co-Chair), Permanent Fund, DGSC Chair, Annual Giving Rotary Foundation, District Conference (Planner) and has received District Awards from past District Governors PDG Kishabhau Godbole, Prakash Shesh, Kumar Sathe, Madhu Rughwani. He is also a certified trainer of Rotary Leadership Institute.

 

He is a Major Donor - Level 2 of the Rotary Foundation and has started the first NAMED ENDOWMENT FUND in RI District 3030 in the name of his parents. His total Contribution to Rotary Foundation exceeds $ 75000. He is also a Paul Harris Society member of the Rotary International. Under his chairmanship, RI Dist. 3030 has achieved its highest ever contribution of $288000 for Rotary Foundation. In recognition to his exceptional services to Rotary Foundation he was awarded “Citation for Meritorious Service” by Rotary Foundation in the year 2010.

 

He is associated with many social and professional organizations. He is the Charter Chairman IIT Mumbai, Alumni Association, Nagpur Chapter; Charter Member of the Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Group, a Life Member of Institute of Indian Foundryman Association, and also the President of Maitrey Educational Society that runs Nagarjuna Institute of College, Engineering, Technology and Management.

 

An ardent sportsman, he represented IIT Mumbai with “Role of Honour” in athletics, basket ball & volleyball at Inter IIT competitions. He is also the former Vice President of Nagpur District Ball Association and one of the Patrons of Vidarbha Hockey Association.

 

A thorough philanthropist, Sanjay Meshram is associated with Uday Shikshan Sanstha (an organization running school for slum children) as an Advisory Committee Member. He is an Advisory Committee Member and patron for Vimlashram Gharkul, a non-profit organization tending to children from red light area of Nagpur. He is a Patron Advisor of SOS Rahul Bal Sadan, an orphanage. He is an advisor and patron of Nagarjuna Medical Trust, non-profit medical trust providing free medical treatment to the poor and needy.

 

Sanjay Meshram is striving to provide at least one Matching Grant or District Simplified Grant to each club of RI Dist 3030 during his Governorship in Rotary Year 2012-13.
